Why Sometimes It Pays to Be a Dummy
Sorry; I know we shouldn't be condoning theft, but this was just such a smart-ass heist that it's impossible not give them their dues. The clever-clogs in question posed alongside real dummies, waiting for the store to be shut up and the staff to leave. Then they went on an uninterrupted spree around the store, helping themselves to thousands of pounds were of clothes. Just imagine how still and lifeless they had to remain while doing the dummy act - that's patience, that's commitment. One has to admire inventiveness like that. Again, for the record, no one at Truthscoop condones theft - unless it's of the Robin Hood kind; which this clearly wasn't. Bloody clever though.
The Mirror:A gang of crafty thieves pretended to be mannequins when a department store was locking up for the night - before they made away with £10,000 worth of designer clothes.
They posed as dummies at a Beales store in Worthing, Sussex, alongside the real models on display.
As soon as staff had shut up shop , they browsed the stock at their leisure picking out what they wanted.
Sussex Police were baffled as to how the gang - who are still on the run - got in without setting off alarms at the upmarket store.
