Realised I read ‘A Russian Diary’ by Anna P. – what, must’ve been in ‘07. Soon after, with bank runs and searching about financial manipulation, awoke to the clearer and deeper scam. The who, doing what, and why. About everywhere, with stretching tentacles.

Russia – more specifically, Putin and cabal – a little more independent than not, seemed the accurate, ongoing, assessment. More recently, outsider voices among outsider alternative media itself, began throwing in converse lines. Contemporary alliances, specifically Israel. Equals?

I’d been warned, all on the same side, here/there and along the way but chose to err on the side of ‘better-Putin than not’. (Remember; better Brexit... and; better Trump...?)

It makes for despairing analysis that; Russia, behind Iran and Syria against Global(ist) hegemony is likely, more bait-and-switch. No-one playing ‘3D chess’ to out manoeuvre and keep some fight-up. Instead, fake shows, like Russian Dolls.

Obviously disgusting oppressive aspects of internal Russian politics but assumed was a trade-off for international actions and security. There are still questions though, in presuming their expansionist intentions and weaknesses as an economy and force. Could be, they’re somewhat forced to fight, or flight and thereby takeover or be… but how far and what? Or if at all?

Three to two seemed the Bankers etc intention for WW1 and 2. Emerging China, yet enough backyard and internal troubles, brings pause to much more than financial and resource war and buy-up. India and Pakistan flaring between each other...

All the economies rocking and quaking.

Is anyone out-there in Govt. leadership – at all? – not bad as the badest ones? Get, two national parties, over-lorded by one behind but no moderating tension of regional bullies, keeping each other somewhat at bay?

Thought remained, was the ignition of US/Russia hostility, indication, paradoxically of a Catch 22 stalemate.

If not: we’re getting shot, shot... by both sides. All.

Putin what are you doing? Billion-ed up for what? Is the looking at Jesus, all sham? Not a scrap of faith and – what else can it be, but... – hatred for humanity. Even for those in Mother R. Philosophy, drenched in cynical resignation.

Typed enough. Said to someone, on for praying over the phone; there’s never been more urge and disquiet for now-to-pray time. An arrival somewhere, that’s difficult to measure as merely cumulative progression. Previously jumped to this conclusion because of heating crisis. Today, this last month or so, seems different. Not because and seen signs so much but unseen and unsettled in you might say, the ether. Atmosphere. Guts.

The war in Syria is reaching its closing stages.   It seems probable that Assad will survive and ISIS is moving elsewhere to wreak its harvest.  This would not have happened if Russia had not intervened, and assisted the Syrian army with air power and other support.  The Russian intervention lifted the reputation of Putin around the world and even on this blog, he became a little bit of a hero for doing this.

That was despite knowing that Putin was less than ideal as a democrat, driving out Russia’s small and middle sized businesses that had blossomed in the brief period of free capitalism that Russia enjoyed.  My friend Igori had opened a flower shop near the Kremlin and became quite wealthy for a while.  He hired me as a political adviser in an attempt to save his property in the Crimea at the time of the Orange Revolution in Kiev.  I knew a few Conservative MEPs then who had assisted my campaign to save the British Hallmark.  I was therfore able to introduce the head of the Soyuz Party, the largest Crimean Party, representing the Russians, at the Parliament in Cimpheropol, to Charles Tannock, who was fronting EU operations in Kiev.  As a result Igori went down on his knees.  He thought his land was safe.

He’s now moving to the UK, and is learning better English at a school in Cambridge, and has given up on Russia.  He says Russia under Putin is worse than it was in Soviet times.  The first book I brought on holiday, Putin’s Russia by the assassinated Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, confirms this opinion a hundredfold.  The way Russia has been run by Putin is beyond awful, beyond criminal.  It is beyond words.  Published by Harvill Press ISBN 978-1-843-43050-6.  I say beyond words, but somehow Anna manages to give you the story.  This she did by taking individual cases that give you the big picture.  Every page is quotable.
