Martyn Joseph, Greenbelt, Prospect Farm.
For C and 'young and fresh after 50 years of Greenbelt' [Prophetic]. Off from The Ship on Wardour St., the Berwick St. Pub, quiet and big, a handful of the 'NME lot' their lunchtime boozer in 1980. More impressive than the pop stars, to me. Warmly taken in, and supplier from CBS and Press Officer, for 'Cheapo Cheapo' (a record exchange shop), which paid for the pints at lunchtime. Part Two of the MJ review by MJ. Work out the setlist and songs.

"What have you got down there, a circus?"
Question to Station Master, Mr. Porter, on the telephone with his boss.
Greenbelt on Monday; Martyn was poppin' and hot, with great shout-outs of righteousness/ for justice.

Reviews, and... propaganda. In the NME they carry Ads. Consider it similar. The inclusion of Lisa and PAS coverage at the time is the evidence that has come to light. Defined, 'extremely rare', is the next layer, to peel back. Sadness at the prospect and unable to exclude, jus' why?

A Christian, where might the music be? Live, UK, anywhere, real, gutsy, good? Mid-80’s until say, the LLS, and NOS in ‘91. Bruce Cockburn and The Whirly Gig, Shorditch Town Hall. There’s more… BUT, One artist, saw live a number of times. One winner. From 1985 – 1990. Undisputed credibility, and rock’d and ballads, as got as it got, Martyn Joseph.

Jackie Leven Like Underrated
Martyn Joseph was looking young and fresh with it. Having been to the annual festival for almost fifty years. Some, going, eh.
Failed to review Phil Ochs' Days of Decision by Martyn, the Morrissey version has been featured, of which the same goes. In a single line? The one, song that socks conviction and concerns of the need to decide... a difficult and stirring cry, find, difficult to play.
Lines? 'Involuntary Injecting of Children'?
The line. The day. Has come. We are. In.
DECISION TIME.
Next comes, stand -or- shrink back?
Apart from an emphasis on one word in one song, albeit a truth... Martyn sang on love, life, politics, and society, to me, broad and right-standing in content and cries out. One other note, again, nothing wrong with what he says introducing a song, yet a subject am seeking to re-investigate: The 1960s, and Laurel Canyon, USA.
Aim to run through the set-list and imagine, am... at the N.M.E.

Thought of Tod Browning's Freaks (1932) when I saw Windsor, Ontario Has a Dwarf-Tossing Problem. Not something I care to read but Browning's film is still with me. Deeply. One of a very few, from hundreds, in some years of living in a retro-cinema wonderland.
