Aleppo - A Tale of Two Cities
So back to (Eastern) Aleppo. Aleppo, which has barely been out of international headlines in the passed year, is very much A Tale of Two Cities: one is the city that Syrian government and Russian spokespeople inform us has been partly hijacked and occupied by jihadist groups backed by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the West, the other is the city of 'moderate rebels' and innocent civilians reportedly under siege by Syrian and Russian forces. As more areas of Eastern Aleppo continue to be retaken by Syrian government forces in recent days, Western media outlets continue to tell us civilians are being massacred by government forces, while Syrian and Russian outlets inform us that thousands of civilians are being liberated from years of being held hostage by the foreign-backed rebels.
No one will be surprised by now to hear that the majority of the evidence appears to support Damascus's version of the story. NSNBC International reports as much in its article.
More Civilians Leave Eastern Aleppo – Russia Sends Mobile Hospitals
nsnbc : The evacuation of non-combatant civilians from embattled eastern areas in the Syrian city of Aleppo continued on Tuesday as military forces consolidate the foothold from newly liberated areas. Meanwhile western media neglect the presence of Islamist terrorists while promoting the narrative that the “Butcher Assad and Russian” pressure on in their relentless campaign.
A local source in the YPG controlled part of the city of Aleppo confirmed statements issued by officials of Syria’s Aleppo governorate, confirming that thousands more families managed to evacuate from remaining “rebel-held” territories in the eastern part of Aleppo.
The Syrian Arab Army, the Red Cross and the Red Crescent are receiving the evacuees to transport them to safety, process them, provide all possible medical care and not least temporar, and first of all “safe” shelter. MORE
